A little information...

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am currently caring for my sick mother and so, while I have uploaded some past works my new work will likely be slow in coming.

While life is not exactly the way I planned it right now, I wouldn't choose to be anywhere else.

I have created this blog to remind me, in the meantime, of who I am and what it is that I 'do'.

I hope you enjoy my 'stuff' as much as I enjoy yours.

Have a lovely day!

A 30 minute life drawing class exercise

I know, he looks.......ummmm...... like he's dead.

Still, kind of dramatic...

Phew...I am glad you said it! When I first looked at it I thought, "Oh, poor dude!" Good to know he is alive and kicking :)

Michelle, I wouldn't put it that dramatic:), contemplative maybe?
It's easy to fix - less shadows around the eyes, or make the rest as dark as the eye area. Put little light spots in the pupils (not in the middle). Good luck with it - you have a good beginning!

Maybe not exactly dead but contemplating it perhaps. It's still very good.

Very dramatic.
I like the way you've gotten the lighting.

I don't think he looks dead. He does, however, look like he's in the depth of despair OR perhaps it's a bad case of the swine flu?

***Seriously, there's something about this that I really love. His face and expression is captivating. It's a very emotional piece, and I want to take care of him:(

And, I don't think it needs less shading around the eyes. I don't know if the model posed like this, or something within you wanted to draw him like this. But, it is an expression of your artistic style. I don't go for following rules! Or cookie cutter art. (And, I can tell you don't either.)

I remember the class, he was a serious looking guy and kind of depressed....I just seem to have exaggerated his expression really.

I like it, it talks to me
